Ratana Tra, CFA, has been with SIGLO since 2014, with an 11-month break externally in the microfinance area as a portfolio manager. In 2018, he became portfolio manager for ILS mandates, sustainability representative and partner. Since 2021, he has also been responsible for the impact investing centre of competence. He began his career in 2001 as an intern and subsequently a working student at Credit Suisse AG, where worked in different departments until 2008, finally in the global economic research department. During this period, he also interned at Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Ltd. in the business development department. In 2008 Ratana joined Man Group PLC at their Swiss office in Pfäffikon SZ as a graduate trainee. After the graduate programme, he assumed the role of quantitative analyst in Man’s multi-manager division, modelling new portfolios for potential and existing clients in close cooperation with the portfolio management and hedge fund research teams. In 2010, he joined the portfolio management team where he actively managed diversified FoHF portfolios for Swiss and international institutional clients. Ratana holds an MSc in banking and finance from the University of St. Gallen and the CEMS Master’s in international management. He is a CFA Charterholder since 2012 and speaks Khmer, German, English, French and Spanish.
