Dr. Ulrich Niederer, born 1947 in Switzerland, is chairman of Artico Partners and is responsible for the firm's business strategy, product development and investment activities. He is also chairman of EBG Investment Solutions in Zurich. After studying theoretical physics at the University of Basel and following several years of research, Ulrich joined the then Swiss Bank Corporation in 1986 as a quantitative analyst. In 1990 he was appointed co-head of institutional asset management, and later appointed chief investment officer for Switzerland, global head of structured investments and head of the alternative investment management business (focusing on private equity, hedge funds and infrastructure). In 2001, Ulrich became Chairman of UBS Global Asset Management Switzerland. He was a member of the Index Commission of the Swiss Stock Exchange SIX and an advisor to numerous investment committees of Swiss pension funds, asset managers and venture capital firms.
